The introduction of the “Cyprus Digital Nomad Visa Scheme” is included in the Strategy for Attracting Businesses for Activities or/and Expansion of their Activities in Cyprus. The Cyprus Digital Nomad Visa is applicable to non-EU and non-EEA nationals, who can perform their work remotely, using digital technology and allows them to reside in Cyprus and work for their company which is registered abroad.

Who is eligible?

Non-EU or non-EEA nationals who:

• Can perform their work remotely through digital technologies;
• Are employed in a company registered abroad or self-employed offering services remotely to their clients who are located abroad;
• Have a stable monthly income of at least €3,500 per month (net).

Benefits

• The right to stay in Cyprus up to one year, with the possibility of renewal for two more years
• Their family members can also stay in Cyprus for the same period, provided that they fulfil specific requirements
• They could benefit from the 60-day rule, if:
  • they do not spend more than a total of 183 days in any other country within a tax year and;
  • they are not tax residents of another country within the same tax year

Procedure

Within 3 months of arrival, the applicant can submit the relevant application with the supporting documents to obtain the permit.

The time of examination is between 5-7 weeks.
